Records: 1,012 · Complete: 100%

In the early days of WWI, the British Expeditionary Force left for France containing several Irish regiments. Before the end of the war, it is estimated that approximately 210,000 Irishmen served in the Great War. This collection contains biographies for more than 1,000 Irish officer casualties of Irish regiments, and Irish officer casualties of British regiments that were mentioned in dispatches from August 1914 to July 1916. The biographies contain details such as family members, birthplace, cause of death, military honors, and in most instances a photograph.
