More about US Revolutionary War

The Revolutionary War, commonly termed the American War of Independence, was an insurrection during which 13 British colonies in North America won political independence and formed the United States of America. General Cornwallis surrendered to the Patriots on October 19, 1781, ending the conflict. Both sides signed a formal peace treaty in Paris in 1783.
