List of the Adjutant General's Office for carded records of military organizations: Revolutionary War through Philippine Insurrection : The Ainsworth list

This collection is sorted by the microfilm target and the carded lists themselves. The targets contain the Catalogue of Indexes for each reel. This will correspond with the regiment in each state. The Catalogue number is found in the search option next to unit. The unit will contain the written unit as seen on the cards and will include either company or regiment.
The carded images contain the conflict period, state, and unit. Additionally, you will find keyed the date and any listed names annotated from that unit on the images.

The Ainsworth list was created in the early 1900's by General Ainsworth and around the 1920's a comprehensive carded list was created.
