Revolutionary War Manuscript File
Most of the records are unbound papers, many were once part of bound volumes, and about a third of the documents in the file are handwritten and printed copies of records, mainly records of soldiers of particular states. Records include pay accounts; certificates of non-indebtedness; commissions; correspondence between military officers; letters sent and received; enlistment papers; oaths of allegiance; receipts for supplies; statements of service performed by individuals; and many other types of records.
