The Mexican War service records consist of jackets showing the name of the soldier, his organization and rank, and contain cards on which information from returns and muster rolls were copied relating to the military service of that individual. There is usually a jacket for each organization containing a "record of events" for that unit. Very few personal papers are to be found in these files.
