This database is a collection of U.S. Navy hospital tickets, medical case papers, and similar documents dating from the early to late 19th century. "Hospital tickets" requested that men be transferred from ships or stations to hospitals for treatment. "Case papers" describe hospital treatment and a history of the case. These records include the Civil War and both sailors and Marines. They also refer to hospitals both stateside and abroad.
