On May 6. 1951, the aircraft was enroute from Carswell AFB to Kirkland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It crashed during the landing at Kirkland AFB, killing 23 on board. Airman First Class Linn was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.
