Captain Duvall was a veteran of World War II. During the Korean was, he was the pilot of a C-124A Globemaster transport with the 34th Air Transport Squadron, 1705th Air Transport Group stationed at McChord Air Force Base, Tacoma, Washington. On November 22, 1952, his aircraft crashed into a mountain 37 miles north of Whittier, Alaska. Captain Duvall was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
