DSC_8129(Stelton School-end of new section)Auto+S.jpgAdded by: ShutterbugBillFrom the temporary classroom in the rear of Stelton Baptist Church, our Kindergarten class was tranferred to the new addition. The room we were in is located by the bank of six windows to the left. You'll note that the sidewalk has two extensions that meet at the brick wall and form a "V'. That sidewalk must have led to an older section of the school prior to the new addition.
DSC_8134(Stelton School-view of Girl's entrance.jpgAdded by: ShutterbugBillThe entrance we used to get inside when school started. Above the door is a marble engraved with "Girls". So at one time, there apparently were separate entrances for boys and girls. Below the chimney must have been the coal furnace. I used to lean against the wall to the right of the entrance (in sunlight) waiting for school to start. Occasionally we would bounce rubber balls off of the brick wall of the new addition opposite from where I stood. The yard in the foreground was all gravel at that time.

Rear of Stelton Baptist Church.Added by: ShutterbugBillThe rear door of Stelton Baptist Church is where our Kindergarten class was located for a short time. My 5th grade class was also located through that rear door.
