Jarrett established his homestead in 1868-1869 when all of the Camas Prairie was still "virgin ground". Named after Nez Perce heroine Too Lah, this spring fed lake on the Camas Prairie is below Mount Idaho (in background).

John Lane was the son of General Joseph Lane, first territorial governor of Oregon, Oregon's first US senator, and the running mate of John Breckinridge in 1860 against Abraham Lincoln.
