After the Revoluntary War was over in 1779 and John Mozena also know at that time as Jonh Msene went with his friend and Comrade Elijah Foot aka Foote to Elijah's home town of Newtown in Fairfield, Connecticut. Elijah introduced his daughter to his friend Jonh Msene (John Mozena). On March 4, 1784, Jonh Msene and Hannah Foot (Foote) got married.

In 1787 and 1795 John Mozena bought two parcels of land in Newtown, Fairfield, Connecticut.

(It was not noted in the letter Jane Theobolt sent to My Grandmother, but I assume that these were records of birth for baptisms.)

Another son named John was also born in Connecticut, (This writer has not been informed if in Newtown or another town.

In 1800, John sold his two parcels of land and moved his family westward to the state of Virginia now know as West Virginia.

On April 5, 1804 Andrew Mozena was born to John and Hannah Foot (Foote) Mozena. There is no other mention of Aaron so it is assumed that either Aaron and Hiram are the same person or was a twin who passed away.

When the U. S. Government handed out land warrants to the Revoluntionary War Veterans John moved his family down the Ohio River to Monroe County. He took a half section of land west of Buckhill Bottom which is two miles north of Baresville (now known as Hannibal.) Since he was the only Frenchman around he became known as "John the Frenchman" and the ridge he lived on was known as French Ridge, which it is still called to this day.

John took good care of his family and taught them how to hunt for game, and farmed the land. He cleared a path down to the river so that his family would be safe from the Reigade Indians and wild animals while traveling in to town in Baresville.

When the War of 1812 broke out John and Hannah took care of their widowed son Dennis's two young children while he served in the army.

John lived in Salem township and died on February 3, 1830, and was buried in the Ollum Cemetery of Posseum Creek Road.
