unner's Mate Second Class Harold Duncan, service #8292824, was a member of the Naval Combat Demolition Unit responsible for clearing mines and obstacles on Omaha Beach on June 6th, 1944. GM2C Duncan was killed in action while clearing Omaha Beach for the invasion force. He left his wife of one year, Jewel Alpha Duncan. Harold Duncan is buried or in Plot G Row 16 Grave 23, Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer, France.
