WII, Purple Heart Recipient, PFC, Company HQ, 175th Infantry Regiment, 29th Infantry Division, 1st Army, 3rd Battalion, Operation Overlord, stormed Omaha Beach, liberated the town of Isigny-sur-Grandcamp territory, fought at the Battle of Hill 108 later dubbed “Purple Heart Hill”, helped capture the town of Saint-Lo, wounded by aerial bomb fragments and machine fire causing a hole through his top right foot, a bullet wound to his right arm and a fractured pelvis.
