ob Greener was a 13 Yr Marine Veteran 099696. He enlisted 11/3/41 and retired as a Captain in the First Marine Division 11/19/1953. By 1944 he was a M.P. Sergeant with the 5th Amph Corps. Also in 1944 he was given a field commision as a Second Lieutenant. He was a Company Officer and Fire Marshall at the 8th field depot in the Pacific. He subsequently continued to serve in the Pacific Theater including The landing of Iwo Jima the day the flag was raised. They Left from Pearl Harbor on the USS Berrien traveled to Iwo Jima and participated in action against the enemy in the shore party. He Reinlisted in Jan.1946. In '49 he was stationed in Yokosuka, Japan with USN Fleet tacticle. In Oct 1952 - 1954 He was the Provost Marshall andCompany Commander "C" Company 1st Batalion 2nd Mar. Div.. FMF (KOREA?) (H co, 3rd BN, 5th Mar, 1st Mar Div H&S Co and WpnsCo)
