John McAliley, with wife Mary McClintock (daughter of Matthew McClintock and spelling is undoubted as is the McAliley spelling being used at and before the War between the states and prior to the move to Florida) and their then family, including Samuel as one of their seven, six then known to be surviving, children left SC in 1842 or so due to the cotton crash.

Samuel was the second Samuel McAliley to die in the Civil War, the first being the son of State Sen. Samuel McAliley, uncle to this Samuel, whose full name was Samuel Lafayette McAliley and who had returned home from Princeton to join the defense of his state. This second Samuel died in the Battle of Chickamauga, in the state of GeorgiA. He served in Company A, 6th Regiment, Dixie Blues under Capt. Rabon M. Scarborough, initially.

5. Mary Wylie McAliley [Wk-sMcs 12zDNA McKBGdBu] was born about 1770 in Chester District, South Carolina. She died about 1844 in Chester District, South Carolina. She was buried in McKeown Burying Ground, Chester County, South Carolina.

8. John McAliley [Mc 13zDNA McKBGdBu]Mc9 was born before 1740 in County Antrim, Ireland. He died about 1804 in Chester District, South Carolina. He was buried in McKeown Burying Ground, Chester County, South Carolina. He married Elizabeth Martin McAliley [sMcs 13zDNA McKBGdBuA5] about 1767.

9. Elizabeth Martin McAliley [sMcs 13zDNA McKBGdBuA5] was born about 1740 in British Isles or Massachusetts. She died on or after 1824 in Chester District, South Carolina. She was buried in McKeown Burying Ground, Chester County, South Carolina. It is possible the lady was the step-mother of William as a William McAliley served in SC including at the siege of Charleston and that would make his 1758 birth conceivable and likely his mother was a first wife for John who died and Elizabeth, Bettie as she was called, became a mother to a young William and had many, six or more, of her own with John McAliley.

10. James \*\*\* Wylie [Wk-sMcKs 16zDNA] was born in 1722 in Ulster Province, northern Ireland. He died in 1806 in Chester District, South Carolina. He was buried in James Wylie farm, Chester County, South Carolina ac. He married Sarah McKinney Wylie [McK-sWs 16zDNA or McKinley] in prob. northern Ireland.

11. Sarah McKinney Wylie [McK-sWs 16zDNA or McKinley] was born in 1729 in British Isles. She died before 1786. She was buried in James Wylie farm lands, Chester County, South Carolina ac. Burial is presumed and McKinney is the name a woman old enough to be her mother bore on the ship, Earl of Donegal, of emigration and seemed to be included in their party.

Fifth Generation

16. M John? McAliley was born about 1700 in County Antrim, Ireland op. He married Ms MothJohn,Saml&Wm MrsJohn? McAliley. There seemed to be three sons, John, William and Samuel, with John the eldest and it is possible that John father of these three made it to the colonies. It is only a possibility.

17. Ms MothJohn,Saml&Wm MrsJohn? McAliley was born about 1710 in County Antrim, Ireland op. No solid information on this lady whatsoever, but she existed.

20. Adam Wylie [A] was born in 1695 in near Ballymena or near Larne, County Antrim, northern Ireland or Scotland op. He died in 1754 in Moylarg or near or in Ballymena, County Antrim, northern Ireland. He married Jean MrsAdam Wylie after 1700 in Ballymena, Northern Ireland, Antrim County op. Adam and Jean are possible but as yet not certain ancestors of our Samuel.
