After basic training he was sent to San Pedro Daugherty Field where he then was transported over seas to England aboard the Historic Queen Mary. He served 2 years under the 576th Bombardment Group, 392nd Bombardment group, 8th Air Force at Station 118 Wendling in Norwich, England as a Mechanic and Driver Personnel Transportation Vehicles [big truck and jeeps]. Although he did not share much about those years. He held the experiences close to his soul.
