Revolutionary Patriot Evan Lewis from VA

I

am looking for a pay warrant for Evan Lewis in the VA Militia in 1776. I have located one in 1775 but most records were lost after the War began. I feel certain that he did continue in the Militia -- his younger brother, Jesse, was wounded at Yorktown. Evan and jesse and their familes moved to Ohio after the War (VA Bounty Land?). Jesse applied for a pension and finally in 1830 or 1831 ir 1832 he did receive a pension. I have located 25 papers where he applied and finally they did give him a pension. My Patriot, Evan Lewis, also applied for a pension according to my ancestors, BUT he died in Ohio in 1823 and never did have the opportunity to complete his pension request. All I want is to have some proof that he did indeed fight in the WAR so that my Grandson can become a member of SAR --- he feels love for our Country. I am sorry not to have DAR accept my application although they have accepted several in my family with Evan Lewis as their Patriot.
