Added by: andreastahlThe Jacksonville Republican announced on Mar 17 1863 to the state of Alabama that their hero, Major John Pelham was dying of a mortal wound to the back of his head. The wound was received during the battle of Kelly's Ford. 100 years later they reprinted the same front page, just as it was on the day he lay dying.
