was in 7th grade. My english teacher encouraged us to buy and wear POW bracelets. I purchased one. I did not know it would impact my life at that time. Capt Kenneth Cameron was the name on my bracelet. I put on my bracelet and then checked the newspapaer. I found his name listed a casualty. He had already known dead. I was so heart broken. I decided I would not forget him. I wore the bracelet for 8 years before it finally broke one day when I was playing softball in a tournament. When I hit the ball it broke the bracelet. I set the bracelet down and forgot it at the ballfield. I was so sad when I got home and realized I had left it there. I had become accustomed to his name being on my wrist. I went back to the ball field in the dark with a flashlight to try to find it but, could not. I was so sad because I felt I was honoring him by wearing it. Many years later I had the chance to see the Vietnam Memorial wall in person. I found Kenneth Camerons name on that wall. I know he is just one of the many deaths in that war. I know that he never heard of me but, I honor this person. I am still sorry that he died. I am sorry that his family suffered a huge loss. I will always remember and honor him. His name will be in my mind forever. Kenneth Cameron you did not die without respect. I am sorry for your suffering.
