About jfschlat515
I’m from Knoxville, Tennessee, a graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Communications, and a retired corporate public relations manager. I served as an Army officer at Dugway Proving Ground, Utah 1974-76, and in the Army Reserve 1976-82. My wife and I live in Sandy, Utah. I’ve written two books about veterans. “Postcard Memories from World War II” tells the stories of about 25 WWII veterans through postcards they wrote. “Died on the Fourth of July” profiles about 50 of the 168 Americans who died in Vietnam on Independence Day. I’ve also been a volunteer in the effort to find photographs of all 58,000 Americans who died in Vietnam.
Why the name Fold3®?
Traditionally, the third fold in some flag-folding ceremonies honors and remembers veterans for their sacrifice in defending their country and promoting peace in the world.
