he USS Grunion was attacked and sunk July 31, 1942 near Kiska Harbor, Alaska. All hands lost. The sub was found August, 2007 and verified by the US Navy October, 2008. A memorial service was held for the crew in Cleveland, OH., October 9th, 2008, at the site of the USS Cod. Over 200 family and friends attended the service.
