Edmond Harold Condon1,2,3 was born on 15 Jun 1926 in Fargher Lake, Clark County, Washington4,5. He died on 26 Jul 1944 in Basse-Normandie, France1, 2. The 1940 Census shows him living with his parents in Mountain View, Clark County, Washington on 01 Apr 1940 (Age: 14; Marital Status: Single; Relation to Head of House: Son3) and also at that location in 1935. His family had a homesteaded in the Farger Lake area and he attended Farger Lake School.6 He reported living in La Center, Clark County, Washington when he enlisted.2. His photograph was taken prior to shipping out to England as part of a massive buildup in preparation for the landings at Normandy on 6 June, 1944.

Edmond Harold Condon2 was Killed in Action in the World War II’s European Theater. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on 16 Aug 1943 in Portland, Clackamas County, Oregon and was assigned to the 359th Infantry 90th Division. His final rank was Private and he was a Purple Heart recipient.2 He landed at Utah Beach on D-Day with his unit.7 Edmond was killed by friendly fire when bombs were mistakenly dropped on U.S. troop positions by Allied bombers at the start of Operation Cobra.7 He was buried in Calvados, Basse-Normandie, France (Saint Laurent Cemetery, Saint Laurent, France, Grave # B 8 401).
