Sgt. Leonard Wilhelm, 32, stationed with General George Patton's Third Army in the European Theater, is reported missing in action in Luxembourg since February 7 according to a telegram received from the War department this morning by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Wilhelm, former residents of Route 2, now reside at 600 East Second Street. Sgt. Leonard is one of five brothers in the service.

Before being transferred to duty in France and Luxembourg, Sgt. Wilhelm served in Iceland for two years and was later stationed in England and Ireland.

He was born in Ashland on October 17, 1912 and attended school at Big Bay, Michigan. He was employed on various farms before taking a position at the Ford Garage here, a job he held until his enlistment in the army on March 9, 1941.

After receiving training at Camp Roberts, California and Fort Benning, Georgia, he was honorably discharged on September 22, 1941. The following day, he re-enlisted into the Reserve Corps and entered the army again on January 4, 1942 at Fort Sheridan, Illinois.

From Fort Sheridan, he was sent to Iceland for two years, and later to France and Luxembourg.

His youngest brother, Willard, had recently joined the U. S. Navy and is at home here awaiting call.

The three other brothers serving: Chief Bos'n's Mate Stanley, U. S. Navy, at San Francisco, Calif., Fireman first class Blaine, in the Atlantic, and Private Frank in the Army at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
