London England

Bradley A Howe was serving in England at the time were he met my Mother, Florrence Hartopp, known as Betty to her friend!s and family, they had a short love affair before Bradley was sent back to the U S A, whch produced me David John Hartopp, my mother tried making contact with Bradley through th U S army, as she had his name and service number, they wrote back to her saying that there was no such person with that name and sevice number in the U S army, I kept this letter for years as my mother gave it to me but have since missplaced it, I did copy down the details from it that is how I have found my father after all these year!s.

What I would realy like to see is a photograph of him to see what he actually looked like, Bradley died in 1987 not knowing anything about me,but I bet if he was anything like me he would have wondered about his time spent in England quite often, so if any one out there has a photo please could you let me have a copy, I tried to find if he has any living relatives but I did not come up with any, it seems like I am the only one, and its taken me 66 years to find this out. Kind Regards, Dave

Updated information

Some of the information I gave above is wrong, he was with the 441st bomb squadron 320th bomb group, that went from North Africa, up through Italy and on to France and Germany, his APO #374 he was at Pantalleria Island June 1943, then on to Monte Corvino September 1943, then Naples in November 1943, on to Rome June 1944, then to Le Luc France, August 1944, Then Salon France, September 1944, back to Le Luc in October 1944, then back to Salon on the 11 October 1944,then Dole 10 November 1944, then on to Mirecourt, on the 5 December, on 23 november, ceased operation,s, so I have now put the record straight, Bradley must have met my mother while on furlough at the end of the war.

I am still loking for a photo of him, if there are any vet,s out there who remember Sgt, Bradley Howe, please send me a message, Regards to all djhartopp167
