Don, was the Son of John L Janotta and Tillie M. (nee Hipp) Janotta. His Hometown was Norwalk, Huron County, Ohio.

He attended Norwalk High School and completed his education at Assumption College in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

Don served with the 82nd Airborne Division; 505th Parachute Infantry; 3rd Battalion; HQ Company. He Died of Wounds received at the Goronne area; near Ardennes, Belgium, on 06 January 1945. He is buried at the Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery and Memorial; Henri-Chapelle;
Arrondissement de Verviers; Liège, Belgium.

NOTE: The Sandusky Library (Sandusky, Erie County, Ohio) has copies of the Plum Brook Ordnance Works NEWS, which contains photographs

of Don; his brother, Robert; his sister, Loretta; and their Father, John L. Janotta. I have not seen the article, but in a search of the holdings of the Sandusky Library, SAYS they have the magazines from 1943 through 1945. The photos had to have appeared either in the April or May 1944 issue.
