Sgt. Carey W. Kendle, husband of Mrs. Christina M. (Hockstok) Kendle, Box 65 Route 1, Plainville, Ohio, has been wounded in the European Theater in Poland.

Carey had shrapnel lodged near his heart, and completely paralyzed his left arm. The Dr.'s wanted to amputate it, but he refused. He became quite proficient in using his right arm, and continued to work on cars. He was completely able to take care of himself, even tying his shoes.

Carey drove a taxi for a number of years, for his brother, and also had a newspaper route. He drove the route and Chris threw the papers.

Carey had cancer of the stomach, that spread to brain and acute myocardiac infraction

Carey died from cirrhosis of the Liver, he is Buried in Evergreen Cemetary Southgate, Ky., Section 65, Lot 135B.
