On some of the WWII AF photographs, James W Welch's name is misspelled as James W Welsh. James W Welch was from St Augustine FL and was the co-pilot on the crew of the Doodlebug (#41-23724) which flew out of north Africa with the 376th Bomb Group.

James W Welch Jr enlisted in Dec 1942.  He served in North Africa flying B-24s , then in the Pacific flying B-29s during WWII.  He also served in the Korean conflict flying B-29s.  He served in SAC and flew B-47s during the Cold War.  He served in MATS in Savannah GA and Hickham HI and retired in 1970.
