Aircraft Action Report for Jun 13th 1944. No photographic duties for Petty Officer Herman Tiritilli this day as they carried a 2000-pound bomb in their bomb bay. Their mission was to attack a blockhouse, mobile artillery emplacement, and the causeway that connects Cabras Island and the town of Piti. They followed Ens Gilbert Mays plane in to the assigned target, encountered heavy AA fire, and released their bomb. Herman's plane was hit by the AA. He and radioman Robert Campbell sustained slight injuries. The plane was damaged enough that it was scrapped and replaced. It was a model TBM-1C with side #82 (bureau #17019).
