8 Nov 1925 - 28 Sep 2018. Victor "Slick" Zirngible enlisted in the U.S. Navy on 28 Oct 1944 and received his training at Great Lakes, North Chicago IL. He shipped out from Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Norfolk VA on 30 Mar 1945 aboard the LST-665 (Landing Ship Transport). Uncle Vic was a Seaman 2nd Class and served as Cook during his time in service. Slick and two of his brothers, Albert and Alvin, all served during WW II at the same time.
