Thomas Martin, obituary

Thomas Martin Thomas Martin, aged 50 (sic) years, a well-known resident of the Carbon Center district and a veteran of the Civil war, died at 12:30 o'clock Saturday morning at St. Francis' hospital, Pittsburgh, after an extended illness from diabetes. Mr. Martin had suffered with the disease for the past two years but it did not become serious until Friday of last week. He was born in Ireland and came to this country when a few weeks old and has been a resident of this county for the past fifty years. He is survived by his widow and these children, James, Charles and Allison Martin of New Castle; Frank Martin, of Detroit, Mich.; Raymond and Miss Carrie Martin at home and a step son, Lee Hollobaugh, of New Kensington. He wa a member of the First English Lutheran church of Chicora. The funeral services will be held at the late residence at ten o'clock Tuesday morning and will be conducted by Rev. Barnett of Chicora. Interment will be made at Worthington. 26 Feb 1917, Butler Citizen, PA
