Born in 1893 to Wesley Burk and Jackie Johnson Robertson. His mother died when Andrew was 7 years old and he grew up with 6 siblings and 3 half siblings in Tenaha, Texas.

He joined the Navy on August 30th, 1916 at the recruiting station in Dallas, Texas. After initial training, he was assigned to the battleship USS Pueblo on the same day the US entered World War I, April 6th, 1917. He attained the rank of Storekeeper 2nd Class with the responsibility of maintaining the ships supplies. The Pueblo was the flagship of the Scouting Force patrolling the South Atlantic at the start of WW I. Andrew made 7 trips with the Pueblo from February to October 1918 escorting convoys carrying soldiers and supplies to England. At the end of the war he made six voyages between Hoboken, New Jersey and Brest, France to bring American troops home. On February 20th, 1919 Andrew Robertson received his honorable discharge at the Naval Training Camp in Pelham Bay Park, New York. The USS Pueblo served another 6 years between 1921 and 1927 before she was scrapped on October 2nd, 1930.

A retired pharmacist, Andrew passed at the age of 71 at the Veterans Hospital in Shreveport, Caddo Parish, Louisiana on April 23, 1965. Funeral services were held at Mangum Funeral Home with the Rev. W. E. Klingle officiating. Burial followed in the Newburn Cemetery, Shelby County, Texas. Day is done, God is nigh.
