No. 107 Squadron, RFC, was formed at Lake Down, Salisbury, on 15 May 1918, and early in June 1918 it went to the Western Front as a day-bomber squadron equipped with DH-9 aircraft.

Its first raid was made on 30 June 1918 and day bombing of enemy targets was maintained until the Armistice. The squadron's most successful raid was made on Saponay on 21 July 1918; large ammunition dumps were hit, and from the squadron's airfield, 20 miles away, the reflection of the explosions and fire could be seen going on all the evening.

The Hundred Days Offensive was the final period of the First World War, during which the Allies launched a series of offensives against the Central Powers on the Western Front from 8 August to 11 November 1918, beginning with the Battle of Amiens.

The offensive essentially pushed the Germans out of France, forcing them to retreat beyond the Hindenburg Line, and was followed by an armistice. NOTE: The term "Hundred Days Offensive" does not refer to a specific battle or unified strategy, but rather the rapid series of Allied victories starting with the Battle of Amiens (8 August-3 September 1918).
