William Jarvis Ring was the son of Jarvis Ring Jr and Sarah Sargent Shephard.. He was born in Salisbury, Essex, MA in 1747. William married Abigail Graves, the daughter of Samuel Graves, in 1776 in Warner, Hillsborough, NH and he was found there on the Census records of 1790, 1810 and later. William died on 27 June, 1826 in Warner, Merrimac, NH and he is buried in the Old Warner Village Cemetery in Warner, NH. There is a Revolutionary War marker at his grave site.
William had a son named Abner Ransom Ring, who left NH and moved to Ogden, Monroe, NY. Abner married Mary Follansbee, also of NH. Abner had a daughter, Ruth Ann Follansbee Ring, who married Reuben Benjamin Houghton in Ogden. They had a daughter named Mary Amy Houghton, who married a Civil War veteran named PVT WM Henry Sigler, who fought in the Civil War with CO M of the 3rd NY Cavalry. One of Abner's sons, Jarvis Wm Ring, also fought in the Civil Ward from Monroe County, NY.
