Civil War (Confederate)

    John Glen Neal had four brothers who also served in the Civil War:
    William Spurlin Neal - Corporal age 31, Sylvanus Halbrook Neal - Private
    age 19, and Allen Brooks Neal - Private age 28, all three served in
    Martin's Company B (Caldwell County Rangers) 20th Regiment Texas Cavalry
    (Bass'), and James F. Neal - 3rd Sergeant age 23 served in the 15th
    Texas Infantry Regiment which also fought at the Battle of Franklin in
    Cheatham's Corps, Cleburne's Division, Granburry's Brigade, Company G,
    Fouty's Company.

    As a Private, John Glen served under A.P. Stewarts Corps, Loring
    Division, Adams Brigade, in Company D, 43rd MS Infantry at the Battle of
    Franklin where he was fatally wounded on November 30, 1864 at the age of
    35.  John Glen Neal's picture resides on the Wall of Honor at the
    Visitor Center at the Battle of Franklin, Tennessee.
