New Berlin, Dec. 28. - Pfc. Otto Wenneborg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Wenneborg, New Berlin, was killed in action Nov. 20 in Germany, the war department has informed his parents. He had previously been reported missing.

Pfc. Wenneborg was born April 4, 1925, at New Berlin, and was graduated from New Berlin Township High School in 1942. Immediately before enlisting in the army he was an engineering student at the University of Illinois.

Following military training at Camp Maxey, Tex.; Ball State Teachers college, Muncie, Ind.; Camp Swift, Tex. and Ft. Dix, N. J., he was sent overseas last September. He landed in France and had since served with the Ninth army in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany.

Besides his parents, Pfc. Wenneborg is survived by three brothers, Norman L., M.M. 2/c, serving aboard ship in the Pacific; Edward and Walter, both of Springfield; four sisters, Mrs. John Murrell, Hazard, Ky.; Mrs. A. T. Zeddies, San Diego, Calif.; Mrs. Walter Roesch and Mrs. William Brehm, both of New Berlin.

The remains of Pfc. Otto P. Wenneborg, jr., 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto P. Wenneborg, who was killed in action Nov. 20, 1944, in Germany, will arrive tomorrow in Springfield. - IL State Journal, Springfield, IL, 9-29-1948

Services were held at Vancil funeral home on Saturday, Oct. 2, 1948 and burial took place in Oak Ridge cemetery with V.F.W. post 755 conducting graveside services.
