Harry Gregory Bosyk was born 15 April 1923 in Ludlow, Hampden county, Massachusetts to Wasyl and Maria H. (Natiu) Bosyk; he appears to be an only child; his dad was a machinist from Austria, his mom from the Ukraine. Harry attended the Ludlow High School and was very active there. He was part of the band and orchestra, soccer, basketball, baseball, Drama Club, Boys Cooking Club, Science Club, Glee Club, many plays and the yearbook staff. He registered for the draft on 30 June 1942 standing 5’10” tall, weighing 170 pounds with hazel eyes and brown hair indicating he had enlisted in the Air Force. He enlisted 12 October 1942.

2Lt Harry Gregory Bosyk (service number O-821447) served with the 374th Fighter Squadron, 361st Fighter Group, 8th Air Force. The majority of their missions was in an escort role, supporting bombers flying over Europe but they also flew bombing missions in support of the Normandy invasion and the Battle of the Bulge. 2Lt Harry Bosyk was killed during a training mission when his plane broke up due to structural failure and crashed over England. He rests in the Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia.
