PROFILE UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Captain Langdon was a pilot flying long range reconnaissance missions over island areas of the South Pacific, including New Guinea, Dutch East Indies, and the Philippines. He was initially stationed out of Australia, then New Guinea at Port Moresby and then Nadzab Airfield, New Guinea at the time of his loss. This unit flew B-17s, B-26s, and P-38s in their reconnaissance operations as part of MacArthur's island hopping plan.

Captain Langdon had enlisted 13 May 1940 and served in Hawaii as an aircraft mechanic. He then became an air cadet, attending primary and basic flight schools at Garner Field, California; and advanced flight training at Roswell Field, New Mexico. He received his wings 29 September 1942.
