For the purpose of obtaining the benefit of an act for the relief of certain Surviving officers & Soldiers of the Army of the Revolution approved on the 15th of May 1828, I Levi Glass of the County of Thomas in the State of Georgia do hereby declare that I enlisted in the Continental line of the Army of the Revolution for and during the war and continued in Service until its termination at which period I was a private in Captain Joshua Hadley's Company in the Regiment of the North Carolina Line and I also declare that I afterwards received a certificate for the reward of $80 to which I was entitled under a resolve of Congress passed the 15th of May 1778 and I further declare that I was not on 15 March 1828 on the pension list of the United States.

Levi Glass of __ in the County of Thomas in the State of Georgia has applied to the Secretary of the Treasury for the benefits of the act, entitled "An act for the relief of certain surviving officers and soldiers of the Revolution," approved the 15th of May, 1828. He states that he enlisted in the Continental line of the Army of the Revolution, for and during the war, and continued until its termination, at which period he was a Private in Captain Hadley's Company, in the __ regiment of the North Carolina line; and that he received a certificate for the reward of eighty dollars, provided by the resolve of the 15th of May, 1778; and further, that he was not on the 15th of May, 1828, on the pension list of the United States, and that he has received as a pensioner since the 3rd of March, 1826, nothing

The Third Auditor is requested to report how far the several statements are corroborated by the records in his Office.

This day came before me William Chester an acting Justice of the Inferior Court for said County Archibald Culbraith2 of said County and after being duly sworn deposeth and saith that he is personally acquainted with Levi Glass Senior of Thomas County Georgia and the deponent served in the Continental Service with said Glass in the North Carolina Regiment under the command of General Green [Nathanael Greene] and that he Glass was a faithful good Soldier.

State of Alabama, County of Barbour

On this the nineteenth day of April 1851, personally appeared before me M. B. Wellborn a Justice of the Peace, in and for the County and State aforesaid, Levi Glass now a resident of Barbour County Alabama, aged Eighty-seven years, who being duly sworn, according to law, doth, on his oath, make the following declaration, in order to obtain a pension under the existing pension walls of the United States.

That he, the said Levi Glass was a private in the company commanded by Captain Joshua Hadley, in the Battalion of Major Robert Raiford, and Regiment of volunteer Infantry commanded by Colonel Litte—alias Litel—alias Leightle [Archibald Lytle] (affiant not knowing how to spell the Colonels name) under General Green [Nathanael Greene] in the war of the revolution between the US and Great Britain of 1776. That he volunteered at Fayetteville North Carolina in January A.D. 1782 for the period of Eighteen months – marched to Wilmington, and thence to the Ashley River in South Carolina, and joined the forces under General Greene under preparation for an attack upon the British then in Charlestown. From Ashley River affiant was marched to James' Island near Charleston, where he was honorably discharged in March or April A.D. 1783 – having served about thirteen or fourteen months.

State of Florida, County of Holmes: SS

On this 26th day of April A.D. 1855 personally appeared before me, a justice of the peace within and for the County and State aforesaid, Levi Glass, aged 91 years, a resident of Holmes County in the State of Florida who, being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is the identical Levi Glass who was a private in the company commanded by Captain Joshua Hadley in the __ Regiment of __ commanded by Colonel Litle [Archibald Lytle] in the revolutionary war between the United States of America and Great Britain that he enlisted in the State of North Carolina on or about the last of

December 1781 for the term of Eighteen months and continued in actual service in said war for fourteen days; that he has never made application for bounty land under this I nor any other act of Congress and that he has never received a land warrant.

He makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the bounty land to which he may be entitled under the act approved the third day of March, 1855. He also declares, that he has never applied for nor received, under this or any other act of Congress, any bounty land warrant.
