ritish Loyalist, of Philadelphia,PA. He joined the British in N.Y. and became the Pilot of the PRIVATEER IMPERTINENT. The IMPERTINENT was captured by the GENERAL GREEN in June 1779 and SAMUEL SAUNDERS and CREW were Prisoners of War in the old Philadelphia Prison on Walnut St. until he was traded for an AMERICAN PRISONER in N.Y., May 1780. sources- PA.Archives, Series1,V11,pg 704; Bradford Papers, Pa Hist.Soc.,Phil,Pa.
