S1/c Alfred A. Goniwiecha

    Alfred A. Goniwiecha of Detroit, Michigan enlisted in the US Navy on 29 April 1944. He took his Navy boot camp training at Naval Station Great Lakes with Class 972, which was formed on 02 May 1944. He initially served aboard the USS Wyoming until 11 Aug 1944 when he was transferred to the Amphibious Training Base at Little Creek, VA. Following that training he was assigned to the LCT-1006 which was transported to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater aboard the LST 683. He was discharged from the USN on 06 Nov 1945.
