Enlisted in Army in 1934. Assigned to 82nd Field Artillery at Fort Bliss, Texas.Transferred to air corps and attended radio operators school at Chunute Field, Illinois, Was assigned to 32nd BS, 19th Bomb Group at March Field, California,

    Partipated in 1st mass flight of B-17s to Hawaii in 1941. Awarded Air Medal.

    32nd BS left Albuquerque AAF on Dec 4. 1941 for overseas. Delayed by Dec 7th attack.

      Left for Java in LB-30 Liberator in Jan 1942. Went to Australia upon fall of Java, Flew combat missions in B-17s, and B-25s in 1942. Assigned to Hq Sqdn. SWPA in Mar 1943. Flew with LCol. Godman and LCol. Rhoades as Radio operator for Gen. MacArthur on C-47s and XC-108 Bataan. Awarded DFC by Gen. MacArthur and transfered from Tacloban,PI to Bergstrom Field, TX in 1945. In 1946 transfered to 509th BG in Roswell, NM. In 1955, left flight status for 1st Sgt. career field and transfrered to Goose AB, Labrador. In 1957 transfered to Williams AFB, AZ as first sgt. Retired in 1967. Passe away in 1990.
