This is Gailen Jesse Dewey "Dusty" Kitchens --found birth certificate it reads Galen Edward Kitchens We do not know when or why he changed his name. He is son of Taft Hendrix Kitchens and Vera May Smith. His grandparents are William Fletcher Smith and Ida Belle Cotnam and Zephaniah Franklin "Frank" Kitchens and Anna Cora "Annie" Boyd.
Gailen was born in DeQueen, Arkansas. He joined the Army and was a MP. He married Una Faye Frair in Hughes County, Oklahoma on Oct 15, 1947. They had Stella Fay and Linda Fay. He married #2 Vera Mae Cronister Odersom in 1951 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and they had Randy - Annie - Ed "Speedy" - Dusty - Rusty and Raymond. We found out about them in 1980 and have looked for them since. Dusty was 6'2" -blue eyes- sandy hair.
Gailen is buried at Fort Gibson National Cemetery Plot 12 0 500 in Oklahoma. He is buried under the name of Gailen J. Kitchens. He was on the cover of the LIFE magazine guarding Tokoyo Rose during war time. Gailen's siblings are Mamie Faye - Buster - Lee - Bill.
