Both of George's parents were born in England, and came to the United State in 1870 and settled in the Dakota Territory before continuing west, and lived in Ellensburg, Washington, where George was born.
George joined the US Navy on March 18, 1918 and was promoted to Seaman 2nd Class. He mustered out on Jan 22, 1919.
He became a widow before 1930, and bought into a Gold Mine in Malheur, Oregon.
Operated a gold mine in Liberty, Kittitas, Washington, with his brothers during the Great Depression.
In 1942 he was working at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard as a Carpenter.
In 1959 he was living in Cle Elum, Washington near Ellensburg.
George's wife was from Nebraska and he died there and was buried at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Nebraska.
