    Infantry. Description at enlistment: 5’9” tall; dark hair; grey eyes; married; born

    Crawford County, Pennsylvania. Promoted to corporal. Killed before Atlanta, Georgia,

    on 22 July 1864.

    Buck, Charles—Civil War Pension Application, National Archives, Washington, D.C.:

    Killed in action near Atlanta, Georgia, on 22 July 1864, leaving his wife and two

    children. Married Mary D. Moss in Buckheart (Fulton) Illinois on 30 January 1851.

    Their children: Frank Anan born 8 May 1856 and Judith Angeline born 17 September

    1858. John W. Moss became their legal guardian in Macomb (McDonough) Illinois.

    Mary Moss Buck died in Bushnell (McDonough) Illinois on 16 April 1869.
