Vincent C. Drozdek was born May 31, 1923 in Cook County, Illinois to Michael and Mary Drozdek. They were both born in Czechoslovakia. His father worked as a woodworking helper. They had three children with Vincent being the youngest.

He had enlisted in the United States Army Air Forces and served during World War II. Drozdek had the rank of Staff Sergeant. Service number assignment was 36648028. Attached to 34th Bomber Group, Heavy, 7th Bomber Squadron as a Gunner.

Drozdek lost his life on D Day June 6, 1944. He was the Gunner on the crew of B-24 Liberator #41-28838 "Misery Agent" on a mission towards Normandy on D-Day on Operator Overload. They ran out of fuel and crashed into the trees and burned near the English coast killing 7 of the 9 crew members on board. Two died days later. They were still carrying twelve 500lb bombs at the time.

Vincent C Drozdek is buried at Plot G Row 1 Grave 157, Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridge, England. This is an American Battle Monuments Commission location.
