aughter of Jas. Anderson Whiteside (1803-1861) and his second wife, Harriet Leonora Straw (1824-1903). Studied Christian Science healing with Mary Baker Eddy in Boston, MA. Became one of the first and most important adherents of the Christian Science religion in TN. Never married.
