Vernon had one brother, Eugene and no sisters. He was the son of Edward Grable and Ola Ridener. In his younger days, he took up boxing. Not sure if it was before or after enlisting into the Army, to go fight in World War II. He only married once, to Elizabeth (Betty) Crider. Daughter of Anthony Earl Crider and Ann Trauth. Vernon and Betty had two childern together, Tonya Grable, and Tony Grable. Tony drown at the mouth of the Licking River in 1966. He was only 17. Vernon had a little Dotson named Lady, whom he adored. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1925, and died in Fort Thomas, KY in 1990. He was a delightful grandfather.
