SERVICES HELD FOR ROLLIE HUGHES
Rollie Hughes, 86, of Lewistown, died at Stephens Nursing Home June 24, at 5:30 p.m. after an illness of one month.
Born Sept. 19, 1877, at Lewistown, he was the son of David J. and Gertrude Dennis Hughes. He was married to Laura Houghton on Nov. 20, 1896 at Lewistown.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Frances Evans and Mrs. Wilma Fraga, both of Livingston, Calif.; and Mrs. Nellie Levingston of Lewistowwn; one son, Glenn Hughes, Lewistown, four brothers, Don Hughes, Havana; D.R. Hughes, Independence, Mo.; Horace Hughes, Philo, Ill., and Clyde Hughes, Urbana; two sisters, Mrs. Florabelle Leavitt, Irvington, Calif., and Mrs. Julia Weirauch, Lewistown; ten grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren. Two children and his wife preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at the Henry Memorial Home with Rev. E.W. Reynolds officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Carolyn Bowton was the organist.
Pallbearers were John Hughes, Merle Bolender, John Weirauch and Robert Weirauch.
Mr. Hughes was a lifelong resident of Lewistown; a member of the Methodist Church, and a retired brick mason.
