Sarah M. King, 63, well-known in sales field

WOBURN- Sarah M. King of Ox Road, Billerica, a former resident of Woburn, passed away Tuesday, September 27th at Middlesex County Hospital; Waltham, following a short illness. Mrs. King was 63 years of age.

She was born in Woburn, the daughter of the late Antimo and Palma (Notaro) Delorenzo.

The wife of John A. King, she worked during World War II at the Raytheon Plant in Waltham, a facility which was engaged during that war in defense contract work; for the military services.

She later became well known as a Sales clerk at the W.T. Grant store which was located in Woburn center for many years.

Still later, Mrs. King was employed at the Transitron plant in Wakefield, but in the years of late was a popular salesperson at Marian's Dress Shop in woburn's downtown section where she was widely known and highly respected in that field.

Mrs. King was a Past President of the Woburn Veterans of Foreign Wars Post Auxiliary 643, and was also active in the affairs of the Woburn Ladies Lodge 1584 in years gone by.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters -- Mrs. Eugene (Marilyn) Shepherd of Billerica and Mrs. Roy (Sandra) Luther of Woburn. She is also survived by four brothers -- Frank Delorenzo of Charlestown, Steve and Antimo Delorenzo, both of Burlington and James Quinno of Woburn; two sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Catherine) D'Arcangelo and Mrs. Edward (Pam) Homic, both of Woburn and five grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late Domenic Delorenzo.

The funeral will be held from the PJ Cox and Sons Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Woburn on Friday morning at 8:00, followed with a funeral mass in St. Charles Church at 9:00 AM. Internment will be at Calvary Cemetery, East Woburn.

Visiting hours at the funeral home will be on Wednesday from 7 to 9 and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.
