About Fairfield Plantation, Charleston, SC

  • Fairfield Plantation, Charleston, SC

Fairfield Plantation was built by the Lynch family, ca. 1730, and is one of the oldest houses on the Santee River.

Jacob Motte acquired Fairfield shortly after his marriage to Rebecca Brewton in 1758. The plantation passed into the ownership of the Pinckney family through the marriage of Elizabeth Motte and Thomas Pinckney [1].

The property was listed on the National Register in 1974.
